Captain Laramie Lion

An Ode to Captain Laramie Lion

Captain Laramie the Lion

Never felt at peace

On the plains of Africa

As much as the seas

The odd one out

He favoured the fish

Over the buffalo

As his favourite dish

His journey began

The day he was caught

By illegal poachers

From Somewhere up north

Locked in a cage

And put upon a ship

Laramie picked the lock

And gave them the slip

He ate every man

Upon that boat

And became the captain

And wore the captain’s coat

When he reached a port

He assembled a crew

A motley bunch

Drunk from too much brew

From that day forward

Laramie rode the waves with ease

No longer king of the jungle

He was now king of the seas

The End
